• What is powder coating?

  Powder coating is a dry finishing process where an electrostatically charged powder is applied to metal and cured under heat to form a hard, protective surface. It creates a smooth, durable coating that resists corrosion, impact, chemicals and weathering. Powder coating is widely used for architectural metalwork, automotive parts, machinery components and fabricated steel.

• What items can be powder coated?

  Most metal items can be powder coated, including steel, aluminium and galvanised components. Common items include gates, railings, balustrades, frames, automotive parts, machinery covers, architectural structures, bike frames and custom metal fabrications. We also coat small batch items, complex shapes and large structural pieces.

• How long does powder coating last?

  Powder coating typically lasts 10 to 20 years depending on the environment, pre-treatment and type of powder used. With correct preparation and industry-approved powders, powder coated finishes offer excellent resistance to UV, corrosion, abrasion and general wear. Our Extra Life systems provide enhanced protection for long-term outdoor and industrial use.

• Do you serve areas outside Sheffield?

  Yes. We provide UK-wide powder coating services, including collection and delivery options to make the process simple wherever you are based. While our facility is in Sheffield, we regularly work with customers across South Yorkshire, the Midlands, the North West, the North East and nationwide.

• Is powder coating better than wet painting?

  In most applications, yes. Powder coating is more durable, environmentally friendly, chip-resistant and offers better long-term corrosion protection compared to traditional wet paint. It also provides a more consistent finish and requires less maintenance over time.

• What colours and finishes are available?

  We stock a wide range of RAL and BS colours, along with multiple textures and gloss levels. Specialist powders, metallics, matt, satin, gloss, anti-graffiti and architectural-grade finishes are available. Custom colour matching can also be arranged.

• Do you offer pre-treatment before coating?

  Yes. Pre-treatment is essential for a long-lasting finish. We provide shot-blasting, degreasing and iron-phosphate treatments to improve adhesion, corrosion resistance and coating durability.

• How much does powder coating cost?

  Powder coating prices depend on the size, material, complexity and quantity of the items. We offer clear, competitive pricing with quotes typically returned in under 12 hours. Sending photos or measurements helps us provide an accurate estimate quickly.
